Previously detained in connection with case of deputy commander-in-chief of the National Guard of Kazakhstan placed in custody

Astana. September 11. KazTAG – The persons previously detained in connection with the case of deputy commander-in-chief of the National Guard of Kazakhstan Konstantin Voronkin have been placed in custody.
“We confirm the detention in September of this year of the persons specified in the request on suspicion of power abuse, bribery on an especially large scale. They have been detained,” said the National Security Committee.
The messages had been spread on the Internet saying that “the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan detained Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard of Kazakhstan for equipment and armament, Major General Konstantin Voronkin.” According to the information, he is allegedly accused of receiving in 2023 “a bribe from the founder of Parallel-TS LLP, Deputy Chairman of the Ak Zhol Party D. Vasiliev and M. Vasiliev, director of the same company.” It is alleged that “both were detained for giving a bribe.” Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the detention.
