“As of Q3 2022, the share of the population with incomes below the subsistence minimum (poverty level) was 5.3%. At the same time, in 13 regions (Akmola, Aktobe, Almaty, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Mangistau, South Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Astana, Almaty and Shymkent) there has been an increase in the share of the population with incomes below the subsistence level since 2019” , - reads the program to increase the income of the population until 2029.
Thus, in nine regions (Akmola, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Mangistau, North Kazakhstan, Turkestan, and East Kazakhstan regions, Almaty and Shymkent) the indicator exceeds the national average.
