Prosecutors discovered a crack in fuselage of Air Astana aircraft

Astana. April 25. KazTAG – Prosecutors have discovered a crack in the fuselage of an Air Astana aircraft.
“On April 18, 2025, the following message was published in the Telegram channel “Berkut 001” at the link https://t.me/burkit_001/12435: “As part of the instruction of the Head of State to conduct an inspection in the field of flight safety, the transport prosecutor’s office, together with the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, is implementing a set of supervisory measures. According to available information, significant defects were discovered during the inspection, on the basis of which the operation of one of the Air Astana aircraft was suspended.” According to available information, a crack about 25 centimeters wide was found in the fuselage in the tail section of the aircraft in the area of the rear luggage compartment. There is also information that the officials involved in the inspection are being pressured to include this violation, which poses a critical threat to safety, in the list of non-essential comments,” reads the request that KazTAG sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The supervisory authority commented on the information, which, based on the wording of the request, is a confirmation of the above information.
“In pursuance of the instructions of the head of state and the Prosecutor General, an inspection of the activities of airlines carrying out regular transportation is being carried out, in which authorized state bodies and organizations are involved. The activities are aimed at ensuring that airlines comply with the requirements of legislation in the field of flight safety and aviation security. Work in this direction is currently underway, the results of which will be reported to the public through mass media,” reads the response to the request.
