Punishment for bribe giving toughened to 15 years in Uzbekistan
Almaty. May 16. KazTAG - Punishment for bribe giving and mediation in bribery has been toughened in Uzbekistan since May 15, reports the Uzbekistan Telegraph Agency.
UzbekistanPresident has signed amendments into the criminal case updating the articles 211 (bribe giving) and 212 (mediation in bribery).
According to the updates, the lightest punishment for bribe giving is 50-100 MCI or imprisonment up to 5 years, instead of earlier stipulated up to 3 years imprisonment or up to 6 months arrest or up to 3 years imprisonment.
People giving bribe on especially large scale in the interests of organized group or to responsible officials will be punished from 10 to 15 years (instead of earlier stipulated 5-10 years).
