"Kyrgyzgas" plans to pay debts to Kazakhstan selling idle gas pipes
Almaty. April 22. KazTAG - "Kyrgyzgas" plans to pay debts to Kazakhstan selling idle gas pipes.
"Kyrgyzstan wants to sell gas pipes constructed in 1960th in Leilekskiy district of Batkensk region in order to pay the debts. We, deputies, believe it is not right, because "Gasprom" acquired "Kyrgyzgas" with all its debts," said Nazarali Aripov, deputy of Zhogorku Kenesh.
In his words, Turgunbek Kulmurzayev, director of "Kyrgyzgas", sent a letter to the local authorities on April 14 stated about the decision to sell the gas pipes to pay the debts to Kazakhstan.
"The gas pipes are in the property of people, now "Kyrgyzgas" wants to sell them via a "Kyrgyzgasprom". We, deputies, applied to the Government to solve the situation," he said.
"Kyrgyzgas" press service said that "Kyrgyzgasprom" company was created last year. "Kyrgyzgas" transferred all the gasmains, gas distributing and compressor stations to its balance. "The pipes in Leilekskiy district were not sold to "Gasprom" because they are not in use. Thus, the company decided it would be right to sell them and pay the debt to Kazakhstan for 2007," the company said.
