Rada recommends Poroshenko impose martial law in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions
Almaty. June 17. KazTAG - Parliament encourages the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to impose martial law in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, ITAR-TASS reported. "The Parliament of Ukraine recommends President to declare martial law in the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions," - said in a statement on Tuesday. The Head of State was also recommended to appoint new leadership of law enforcement agencies and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Ukrainian media, the relevant draft resolution "On measures to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and countering military aggression of the Russian Federation" was registered on the website of the Parliament and included in the agenda of the meeting. "In order to ensure the stabilization and restoration of normal life in the eastern regions of Ukraine Parliament decides: to appeal to the President with a proposal to consider the imposition of martial law in the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions", - stated in the draft decision. Recall, Donetsk and Lugansk regions are under armed confrontations.
