Re-cultivation of uranium impoundments in Kyrgyzstan will start in autumn

Almaty. June 25. KazTAG - The European Union will fund re-cultivation of uranium impoundments in Kyrgyzstan which will start in autumn 2019, reports the Kyrgyzstan Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG).
"In autumn of this year the first contracts for re-cultivation of impoundments in Kyrgyzstan will be signed. The works will start in October-November 2019 within the frameworks of the program of the European Union for re-cultivation of uranium impoundments in Central Asia. Totally seven objects have been chosen in the region, three of them in Kyrgyzstan," said the representation of the European Union in Kyrgyzstan.
The first objects to be recultivated in Kyrgyzstan are located in Mailuu-Suu.
The funding will amount to 85 mln euro for the full program.
"Recultivation in Mailuu-Suu will cost 30 mln euro, in Min-Kish- 5 mln, in Shekaftar- 4 mln," reads the report.
