Representative of Chevron promised to increase number of Kazakhstani specialists in management structure

Astana. July 4. KazTAG - Todd Levy, president of Chevron on exploration and production in Europe, Eurasia and Near East, promised Berdibek Saparbayev, Minister of Labour and Social Protection, to increase the number of Kazakhstani specialists in the management.
"Berdibek Saparbayev, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Kazakhstan, met Todd Levy, president of Chevron for exploration and production in Europe, Eurasia and Near East on July 3. The parties have discussed provision of safety and favorable working conditions at Tengiz field. Levy assured that a number of questions will be raised in the contractor company in order to increase the number of Kazakhstani specialists in the management," reads the message.
The Minister said the situation at Tengiz will be under special control.
"The main question now is compliance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, prevention of discrimination and salary differentials, equal working conditions of Kazakhstani and foreign specialists, and no labor disputes, ” said Saparbayev.
The head of the Ministry of Labor also noted the need to reduce the share of unskilled foreign labor in the contracting companies.
