Responsibility for disproportion in salaries for foreigners to be toughened up in Kazakhstan
Astana. July 29. KazTAG - Responsibility for disproportion in salaries between foreign and local specialists is planned to be toughened in Kazakhstan, said Akmadi Sarbasov, Vice Minister of Labour and Social Protection.
"We are talking about tightening of administrative responsibility for disproportion in salaries. We plan to specify the component of this crime and we believe that we will be able to conduct state control on employers more effectively, first of all on the companies which attract foreign workforce. In August we will conduct an appropriate analysis of such companies, we will consider protection of national labour market," said Sarbasov.
In his words, the question about the size of salary for foreign and local specialists must be considered taking into account their knowledge, skills and professionalism.
"If a foreign and Kazakhstni specialist has the same duty, profession, there mustn't be any discrimination. An employer takes decides on salary independently. But if these parameters coincide, and if there is a disproportion, the salary of local specialists must be raised to an appropriate level. We will be carefully controlling this, we will target our efforts on this," he said.
