Almaty. April 25. KazTAG - The revenues of "Manas" airport will fall by almost 1.2 bln soms after withdrawal of the American air base, reports KyrTAG news agency.
"Manas" profits will fall after the withdrawal. The revenues used to be 3.2 bln soms, in 2014 we expect within 2 bln soms. The budget may cover all the expenses of the JSC, but the budget for the airport development will be zero," said Diar Tokobayev, vice president of "Manas" airport.
In his words there were more than 7000 internal and 4000 international flights last year. The passenger traffic of the airport made up 2 mln people. The limited passenger flow of the airport- 4 mln people.
"We believe it is necessary to increase the number of transit flights. Now we have only 2 transit flight Istanbul-Bishkek- Ulan Bator," said the vice president.
He added the airport negotiated with 30 investors, cooperation has been started with four of them.
Meanwhile, according to Albek Ibraimov, president of "Manas" airport, the expenses for the terminal maintenance are not repaid.
"The terminal was constructed before the SCO summit. The delegations use it for free. The expenses for the terminal are not repaid. Thus, it is necessary to withdraw its status of a nationalized object. This question has been opened for 4 years," he said.
