Russia did not propose Kazakhstan to exchange territories - MFA

Astana. February 24. KazTAG - Russia did not apply to Kazakhstan proposing to exchange territories in Omsk and North-Kazakhstani regions, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"The questions concerning the state border demarcation between Kazakhstan and Russia are exclusively in the competence of joint commission of Kazakhstan and Russia on the issues of state border demarcation. The delegation of Russia in this commission did not apply to Kazakhstan with such proposal," reads the comment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan published on the official site.
Meanwhile, the Ministry indicates, in case of application, this question will be carefully considered within the frameworks of negotiation process and international practice.
"We paid attention to the information about the proposal of governor of Omsk region V. Nazarov concerning the territories exchange with Kazakhstan," reads the comment.
As it was previously reported, the authorities of Omsk region plan to apply to the intergovernmental demarcation commission to exchange the territories.
