Almaty. January 29. KazTAG - Sales of premium smartphones have increased by 18% in 2018 on the background of decline in the industry, reports iXBT.com.
"The global, premium smartphone segment grew faster (+18%) than the overall smartphone segment (-2%) in 2018. Growth was driven by flagship launches of Global players like Apple, Samsung and Google. Chinese players like Huawei, OPPO and vivo also followed this trend," reports  Counterpoint Research.
The main share of sales in the market of premium smartphones accounts for the two main market leaders from South Korea and the United States, who sold 73% of the total number of flagships. Another 10% fall on the manufacturer from China.
"If you narrow the price range, the most popular in the premium segment were the models that cost from 400 to 600 dollars," reads the report.
It is noted that if in September 2017, smartphones worth over $ 800 accounted for only 8% of sales in the premium segment, in October 2018 their share rose to 48%.
