Petropavlovsk. November 7. KazTAG - The sanitary doctors of the North Kazakhstan region do not connect medical condition of the inhabitants of the village with operation of gold plant, said Serikbay Kasmakasov, head of department for control of quality and safety of goods and services in the North Kazakhstan region.
"There is no direct connection, the mine does not cause diseases," he said at the briefing.
The inhabitants of Bulak village had applied to Nur-Otan branch. They said after Auliye Gold Mining plant started operation in the area, the morbidity and mortality rates have increased, including oncological diseases.
However, Serikbay Kasmakasov does not find any reasons for concern.
"The technological cycle of the company includes extraction of gold containing ore in seven quarries, which have no excess of radiation level. It was measured 330 times in the time of industrial control, it is 10 times below the limit. For this category of companies the sanitary zone makes 1000 meters, but in this case the minimal distance between the quarries and the settlement0 -  1660 meters. 107 people (including 17 inhabitants of Bulak village) work for Auliye Gold Mining and North Kazakhstani metallurgic company, no professional diseases have been recorded among them," he added.
