SCAT facing groundless agiotage - expert

Almaty. April 14. KazTAG - Agiotage is being intentionally created around SCAT air company, said Eugeniy Mosin, head of the department on inspection of flights safety.

"I don't think that aviation accidents have got frequent in the company, while the security level is on quite high level. It has been the first incident  in our practice (incident with SCAT aircraft on April 7 in Astana airport), but if to look at the world statistics, 14 similar cases were registered worldwide in February. The things happening now, I think, it is groundless agiotage created around the company," he said to KazTAG.

He added the actions of the crew members were correct in the situation.

"In this case we can talk about correct actions of the crew, who landed the plane safely without deviation," he said.

In his words, the problem was not in the wheels, but in the alarm system.

"Factually, the technique worked correctly while landing, but the alarm system did not show the gear leg fixing," he said.

He added it might have been caused by bad weather conditions.

"The reason of that will be clear after technical inspection of the aircraft. But I can say now that the system might have been affected by the weather in the takeoff airport, it was rainy and snowy that morning. The aircraft was treated with anti-icing agents. Perhaps the transducer got wet," he said.

Mosin also said that during the incident on April 1 in Astana airport, only two wheels were damaged, other two got damaged in the time towage.

"Anti-skid system activated during the landing of Boeing 757. While running there was partial braking  in the left gear leg, as a result two wheel destructed. After the plane stopped the crew decided to taw the aircraft with special transport, during towing the second couple of the left gear leg was damaged," he said.

He expressed indignation about the actions of police in such accidents.

"After absolutely safe landing of aircrafts and deplaning of passengers a crowd of policemen break into a plane, all the plane documents are arrested. The police do not let the crew finish all the flight procedures; they forcefully take the pilots to the police department for interrogation without any legal ground. The crew stays in the department for 5-7 hours, they are subjected to moral pressure, forced to give evidences in order to institute criminal case without a damage fact," he said.
