Security fees to be charged from foreign tourists in Turkey since January 1
Almaty. December 28. KazTAG - Foreign tourists in Turkey will be charged € 1.5 in Turkey since January 1, reports the Turkish news agency Anadolu.
"At the request of the Turkish Union of Travel Agencies (TURSAB), the security fee has been reduced from 3 euros to 1.5 euros per person," reads the report.
Initially it was proposed to introduce a security fee from foreign tourists in the amount of 3 euros since January 1, but TURSAB asked the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy to reduce the fee.
According to TURSAB president Firuz Baglykaya, millions of tourists have already bought tours to Turkey for 2019 and a fee of 3 euros per person can be a serious financial burden on tour operators who attract up to two million tourists to the country.
M.Ersoy declared to Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Jahit Turan that the proposed fee could have a negative impact on tourism development, as a result of the fee has been lowered to € 1.5.
