Senate approved draft criminal code on administrative violations
Astana. June 5. KazTAG- Senate deputies approved the draft code on administrative violations and appropriate amendments into the draft law "On amendments into some legal acts on legislation on administrative violations".
"The draft criminal code combines the interests of all the law enforcement bodies. The main task of the draft code is humanization which is supposed to support small business and reduce the size of fines by 50%, reduce maximum arrest term to 30 days against current 45 days, it excludes application of repressive norms in respect of people sick with alcoholism, drug addiction and toxicomania committing administrative violations as compulsory treatment concerns the rights of people," said Berik Imashev, Minister of Justice, presenting the draft code.
The right of judges to reduce administrative fines by 30% in respect of individuals in case of palliatives is also an innovation of the draft code.
The amendments will also strengthen protection of labor rights of people.
