“We can say that now the rural residents are in the worst social situation. Many of them have to survive, being in the outback far from large cities. The problem is that statistics hush up the real situation in the countryside. Judging by statistics, there are only 181 thousand people, or 4.7%, unemployed in the countryside. In fact, unemployment has become the main scourge here. We conducted a sociological survey among rural residents in almost all regions of the country. All of them indicated that the income of the villagers amounted to KZT35 thousand. Polls show that 41% of the able-bodied population want to move from villages to cities,” Kurishbayev said.
