Senator: Kazakhtelecom provides 70% discounts to banks and oilers, while schools pay excessive tariff
Astana. December 26. KazTAG - Sergey Yershov, Senate deputy, said Kazakhtelecom gives 70% discounts to banks and oilers, while schools have to pay an excessive tariff.
"Kazakhtelecom often gives 70% discounts to big customers such as commercial banks, oil and gas companies with foreign share. Here is a paradox as health care organizations, public schools, structures of local executive bodies, smaller business get telecommunication services for overstated tariffs from the national operator," he said in his request to Askar Mamin, Prime Minister.
As an example he referred to new tariffs for individuals presented by Kazakhtelecom - Ultra, Black, Silver worth 6499 tenge per month (Internet access up to 500 mbit/s, Premium TV, unlimited calls to city phone numbers Altel/Tele 2 and mobile communication - 1600 minutes and 16 Gb of traffic).
"Compare it with the tariff for public schools: Mektep-unlimited 2- 15500 tenge per month with guaranteed capacity of 4 Mbit/s. In fact, Kazakhtelecom has another tariff - 40/100 Mbit/s which costs 187 491 tenge per month which complies with the international standards of online education," he said.
