Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are gradually expanding trade and economic cooperation across the entire spectrum of interaction.
“Thus, over five years, the volume of mutual trade between the countries has increased fourfold and over the past year alone has grown by 28%. Trade turnover for the first six months of this year amounted to $237.2 million. Promising areas for increasing cooperation today are the gas industry and the transit and transport sector, where a number of large projects for the reconstruction and construction of highways are being implemented. Among them is the construction of a new 225 km long highway "Kazakhstan border - Garabogaz - Turkmenbashi" and a new bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay. A project is being developed to reconstruct a 165 km long section of the Zhanaozen - Turkmenistan border highway," reads the report.
