Sewage treatment plants in Kazakhstan to be reconstructed from private funds
Astana. June 4. KazTAG - Vladimir Radionov. Sewage Treatment plants in the cities of Kazakhstan will be reconstructed with private funds, said the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Roman Sklyar.
“To solve the problem with wastewater treatment plants in the cities of Kazakhstan, according to preliminary estimates, we need about KZT330 billion. To fulfill this task, the ministry has developed a mechanism for attracting extra-budgetary funds for their reconstruction”,- said Sklyar at a government meeting on Tuesday.
The ministry proposes to bring the standards for wastewater treatment to European standards, which, according to experts, will reduce capital costs by up to 30%.
“Energy-efficient technologies will be introduced with the possibility of biogas production and sludge processing. It is also necessary to subsidize the tariff in order to reduce the burden on the population during the implementation of public-private partnership projects”, - Sklyar believes.
This, according to him, will allow to completely modernize buildings in cities within three years.
