Share of e-commerce makes 2.9% in Kazakhstan
Almaty. May 14. KazTAG - The share of electronic commerce of Kazakhstan makes 2.9%, volume of on-line trade- 269 bn tenge, said Ruslan Dalenov, minister of national economy of Kazakhstan.
"The market of electronic commerce in Kazakhstan is as follows: by the results of 2018 the volume of e-commerce market grew up by 1.5 times and amounted to 269 bn tenge. The share of electronic commerce is equal to 2.9%. The number of active buyers increased by 2 times to 2.3 mln people," said Dalenov at the session of the Government.
In his words, China takes the leading position in the field with the share of electronic commerce to 23.7% of the national retail trade turnover and the states of the European Union with 14.8% share.
According to Dalenov, about 20 electronic trade grounds operate in Kazakhstan which give an opportunity to over 1 mln SME subjects to sell their goods, there are also 1700 independent internet shops.
"The structure of e-commerce market in Kazakhstan consists of 68% of goods trade and 32%- services. Construction materials, household appliances, cosmetics, clothes and shoes are most demanded goods. Services include sale of air and railway tickets, payment for cultural events and utilities, ” said Dalenov.
