Shymkent resident Guzal Auelbekova caught one scorpion a few days ago. In her words, arthropod got out of the bag where the potatoes were kept.
According to the woman, she finds scorpions at home every year, while last year one of them stung her badly on the arm. This year dangerous arthropods appeared earlier than usual.
“There is no control of them, we somehow even tried to disinfect the house, the yard, but, unfortunately, this does not help. Before going to bed, we check the bed, check the corners, we don’t enter the room without turning on the light,” Auelbekova said.
12 victims of scorpion stings have been recorded this year.
“One of the bitten had to be hospitalized because the pain was unbearable. According to doctors, the townspeople should be more careful. Scorpions most often live in private houses and love dark places,” reads the report.
The bite will only bring pain to healthy adults, but their poison is dangerous for children and the elderly with chronic diseases.
