Almaty. August 29. KazTAG - A sixth part of equipment in the medical institutions is outdated in Almaty, said Bakytzhan Sagintayev, akim of Almaty.
“We have conducted an inventory of medical equipment in hospitals and clinics of the city, they have about 300 thousand units of equipment, and about 50 thousand units were declared obsolete , they should be thrown away,” Sagintayev said at a meeting with the population of the Bostandyk district on Thursday.
The akim noted that there are polyclinics in Almaty which are equipped only to 22%.
"Three years program has been developed. In this period, we will equip all the medical institutions to 85-90%," he said.
It is also planned to increase the number of outpatient clinics.
“We have drawn up a map of all the districts in order to understand where there is lack of hospitals, mostly it concerns the lower part of the city. In order not to build new buildings, we are on the way to renting outpatient houses, ” the mayor added.
