"The size of population of Kazakhstan amounted to 18 489.7 thousand people as of June 1 2019, including urban- 10 767.6 thousand (58.2%), rural - 7722.1 thousand (41.8%). The size of population increased by 236.4 thousand people or 1.3% in comparison to June 1 2018," reads the document.
Positive migration balance was observed in four regions: Mangistau region (515 people), Nur-Sultan (10 936 people), Almaty (11 540 people) and Shymkent (4144 people).
