Slovenia withdrew its military contingent from Afghanistan
Almaty. May 11. KazTAG - Slovenia withdrew its military contingent from Afghanistan, reports the ITAR-TASS news agency.
"Slovenia completed its mission in Afghanistan and returned the soldiers to the motherland. By the order of Roman Yakich, Defense Minister, 28 soldiers who were in the state in the international security support group came back home a month earlier than planned. Other 4 soldiers will stay in Afghanistanuntil the end of June," reads the message.
"Our mission has been successfully completed. (...) I must admit the participation of soldiers in military operations in Afghanistan increased the level of military preparation of our forces," said Bidran Bozhich, head of general headquarters of military forces of Slovenia.
Slovenian military forces had been taking part in the military operations in Afghanistan for 10 years.
