Sowing campaign delayed in East Kazakhstan region due to weather conditions
Almaty. May 2. KazTAG - Sowing campaign has been delayed in the East Kazakhstan region due to weather conditions, report the official mass media sources.
"Weather has brought corrections in the plans of agriculturists in Eastern Kazakhstan. Sowing campaign will be delayed this year. Totally 1 mln 400 thousand hectares will be sown in the region. It will be increased by 82 000 hectares this year," reads the message.
A big part of the area will go for legumes - peas, beans, lentils.
“The farms have already purchased all the necessary seed stock. More than 90 thousand tons of them came to special laboratories for verification," reads the message.
According to the head of the regional department of agriculture Adlet Tuleutayev, plant growers need 32 thousand tons of diesel fuel for the sowing campaign.
“Of these, 5.5 thousand tons have already been purchased by the peasant farmers. The remaining 27 thousand tons will be allocated by the Pavlodar petrochemical plant by quota. In March, 8 thousand tons were supplied, in April - 9 thousand tons, and we are waiting for 5 thousand tons in May-June. It will cost 193 000 per ton, or 160 per liter from the operators, 184-185 tenge per liter to the final consumers," he said.
