Special envoy of UN secretary general to take part in Syrian peace talks within frameworks of Astana process

Astana. April 25. KazTAG - The delegations of participants of the 12th round of Syrian peace talks within the frameworks of Astana process are arriving to Astana, said Aibek Smadyarov, official representative of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.
"Bilateral and trilateral consultations will be held on April 25. The plenary session where the final document will be adopted is scheduled for April 26," he said.
Russian delegation chaired by Alexander Lavrentyev, special envoy of Russian president on Syria, has been the first to arrive. The delegation of Iran is headed by Ali Asgar Hadji, aides of the foreign minister on political affairs, the delegation of Turkey is chaired by Sedat Onal, deputy foreign minister of Turkey.
The delegation of the Government of Syria and the armed opposition have arrived to the meeting. The representatives of Jordan have arrived as observers, as well as representatives of department of UN high commissioner on refugees affairs and the international committee of Red Crescent.
Geir Pedersen, special envoy of UN secretary general, is expected to arrive to the meeting.
