Speed to be limited on Bus Lane in Astana following fatal accident
Astana. April 2. KazTAG - Akim of Astana Bakhyt Sultanov has ordered to limit the speed on Bus Lane following the fatal traffic accident, reports the akimat of Astana.
"Bakhyt Sultanov marked that control over traffic security will be toughened, he gave orders to the heads of the city departments. The police department and the department of transport and road-transport infrastructure have been ordered to limit speed on Bus Lanes to 40 km/h in the direction of the main flow, and to 30 km/h in the oncoming direction," reads the message.
The health care department has been ordered to conduct a complex medical analysis for all the drivers and consultants for narcotic drugs, facts of chronic diseases, including hypo - and hypertension (high / low pressure).
The department of transport and road-transport infrastructure and Astana LRT Ltd have been ordered to digitalize the procedure of medical control for bus drivers. The police department jointly with the department of investments and business development have been ordered to toughen control over performance of the order of akimat on limit of cargo transport traffic, to introduce automated record of violations of speed limit by the cargo transport through Sergek system.
As it was reported two people died, 35 were injured and 23 hospitalized following a traffic accident involving three buses, an ambulance and passenger cars in Astana on March 26.
