"We are not restricted by seven regions of Kazakhstan which we have already visited. We will go to Astana, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Kostanay, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan and Akmola regions, we are trying to cover all regions, and we will definitely hold meetings in these cities and regions. Today we want to specifically declare any provocation against us, any attempt to disrupt our meetings in these cities and regions are initiated not by the local authorities who obviously organize all these provocations, but personally by Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev as a President, chairman of NSC, Karim Massimov, and Minister of the Interior Yerlan Turgumbayev. We demand to stop all the provocations against the organizing committee for establishment of the Democratic Party ”said Zhanbolat Mamai, member of the initiative group at a press conference on pressure on the initiators of the establishment of the Democratic Party in Almaty.
The activist noted, they traveled to Kazakhstani cities and regions to meet with representatives of civil society.
“Our trips started in the western regions - West Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Aktobe and Mangystau regions. We have recently visited Taraz, Shymkent and Kyzylorda. Recently, pressure and repressive ways have been intensifying to disrupt our meetings with representatives of civil society, with those people who want to support the organizing committee of the Democratic Party. You witnessed how they tried to disrupt our meetings in Taraz and Shymkent, and how they disrupted the meeting in Kyzylorda," he said.
