"The local manufacturers of sausage products have been complaining about the work of big supermarkets, which give preference to the imported products," said Kumar Aksakalov, akim of the East Kazakhstan region.
He has assigned the subordinates to conduct a monitoring.
"There are best places in the supermarkets, there are less visible shelves, and the best shelves are occupied by the imported products - why? Any state first of all gives preference to the domestic products. People work, pay taxes, create work places. First of all it concerns Petropavlovsk," he said.
Marat Tasmaganbetov, first deputy akim of the East Kazakhstan region, said such tendency exists.
"Unfortunately poor quality Russian products flow to the market and shelves of big supermarkets. In order to get profit, the owners of the supermarkets give the best shelves to the suppliers of cheap products and get more bonuses," said Tasmaganbetov.
