"Igentay Sopyzhanov, born in 1996, was detained near a railway station at night on September 9 at about 1.00 suspected of committing a crime under part 2 article 99 (murder)," said Yerlan Faizullin, head of police department of Karaganda region.
The man was taken to pretrial detention facility.
"He confessed kidnapping and killing the child," he added.
The man approached his 22 years old female acquaintance in Burma village on September 5, because of hostile relations he grabbed her three years old son and escaped.
The child's body was found in the suburbs of Burma village.
