Almaty. June 20. KazTAG - Thieves broke into the Uralskaya Nedelya newspaper, reports the International Fund for Freedom of Speech Adil Soz.
"Thieves broke into the Uralskaya Nedelya editorial. According to Mariya Melnikova, journalist, the alarm set off in the office at about 04.00 am. Security officers arrived 2 minutes after but did not catch anyone. Lukpan Akhmedyarov, editor of the newspaper arrived to the office, checked it, but did not find any signs of robbery, he locked the doors and left. In the morning, Marina Melnikova revealed that her laptop was stolen," reads the message.
According to Melnikova, the thieves stole only the laptop, "although there were other computers, cams, and other techniques".
"Nobody attempted to break into the accountant's office, they did not take stuff of other employees. I believe they wanted to steal my laptop, or information in it," said the journalist.
