"Three children aged 8, 11 and eight months were taken to resuscitation on July 17 with signs of poisoning. The children said they had been eating unknown berries. They had vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, and subfebrile temperature, ” said Yekaterina Zhivnodey, anesthesiologist-resuscitator of the children's regional hospital.
She said the children were in serious condition. They had detoxication therapy. On the next day their condition improved and they were transferred to nephrology department.
"Now they feel fine, they have been discharged from hospital," she said.
According to the sanitary aviation doctors who were transporting children from Ualikhanovsk district to Petropavlovsk, one more child from this family, aged 5, died.
According to the mother of the children she did not call doctors immediately as she had similar symptoms and took them for food poisoning.
Specialists assume the children got poisoned with dogberry.
