Three languages education always existed in schools of Kazakhstan - teacher
Almaty. July 26. KazTAG - Three languages education has always existed in the schools of Kazakhstan, said Oleg Pak, math teacher, director of Samal Bilim Ltd.
"One of the reforms discussed at school is introduction of three languages education. But it has always existed, we have always been learning Russia, Kazakh and a foreign language," he said at the public discussion "Future of school education in Kazakhstan".
In his words, the problem has always been in the quality of education.
"It was believed that school graduates must always speak three languages. Today they are talking about teaching in English, but I don't understand what for. Teach children Russian at the classes of the Russian language, Kazakh- at the classes of the Kazakh language, English- at the classes of the English language," he said.
Lidiya Shapovalova, director of TAMOS Education disagrees.
"More than 80% of our graduates study abroad. When we ask them about the difficulties they face, they said that although they know a subject well, working with the literature in English is a problem. I believe we need teaching in English, as the language is in trend, there is a lot of scientific literature in English, children must take part in it" she said.
