Almaty. November 24. KazTAG - Three more children from Kalachi village have been hospitalized with "sleeping dropsy", reports the department of emergency situations.
"3 people with the diagnosis “Encephalopathy of unknown etiology" were hospitalized on November 22 at 13.20 in the central hospital of Yesil district," reads the message.
The patients are aged 4, 11 and 14.
As it was previously reported, the first cases were registered in spring 2013. New cases were registered in the village in September this year. Dozens of people were hospitalized. It is known that a uranium mine is located 500 meters from the village. However, according to Aliakpar Matishev, chairman of the committee on protection of consumers rights of the Ministry of National Economy, there are no hazardous factors harming people's health.
