Tightening of punishment for rape and pedophilia to be introduced in Majilis in 2019

Astana. September 12. KazTAG - Tightening of punishment for rape and pedophilia will be introduced in Majilis in 2019, said Marat Akhmetzhanov, deputy prosecutor general of Kazakhstan.
"We have developed a bill. It has been elaborated following the order of the head of state. We plan to get the conclusion of the Government and introduce it ( in Majilis-KazTAG)," said Akhmetzhanov.
He reminded that "previously  due to extenuating circumstances rape was in the category of moderate crimes, now it will be turned into serious crimes."
“It means that reconciliation is impossible,” he said.
Amendments regarding toughening of responsibility for sexual violence, pedophilia, domestic violence against women and children will enter into force before the end of this year.
Responsibility will be tightened for poaching, drug trafficking through electronic information sources, repeated thefts, fraud, cattle theft, and robberies. Some of the above will go into the section of serious crimes with exclusion of reconciliation.
