TikTok may be banned in Kazakhstan

Astana. April 23. KazTAG - The Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of blocking the social network TikTok in the country, said Aida Balaeva , Minister of Culture.
“Today we see that the amount of illegal content on social networks has been growing. In my opinion, I say as a minister, we need to consider (blocking TikTok - KazTAG). Because, you see, we are involved in it all. The children look and you see and hear swear words. People there are almost like fortune tellers,” said Balaeva said on the sidelines of the Majilis.
The minister noted that TikTok is the leader in the amount of illegal content.
“I’m not saying right now, we’re already prohibiting it. We need to talk, consider. Because when neighboring states and other states take such measures, we also need study,” Balaeva added.
