Tina Kandelaki will be banned from entering Kazakhstan – Foreign Ministry

Astana. January 22. KazTAG – Russian TV presenter Tina Kandelaki will be banned from entering Kazakhstan, said Aibek Smadiyarov , official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
“If necessary, measures are taken. Don’t demand this from us (the list of those who are prohibited from entering) today or tomorrow, but the state will never forgive this. Perhaps she is not going to Kazakhstan, but if she decides to come, they will not let her in,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Aibek Smadiyarov answered questions from journalists.
TV presenter Tina Kandelaki had published a post on her Telegram channel about “the displacement of the Russian language.” She noted the decision of the Kazakh authorities to rename several railway stations, for example, Uralsk" to "Oral", "Uzen" to "Zhanaozen".
“As the Baltic experience shows, this is a very dangerous trend. Here, too, everything started small, and then turned into a real snowball: Russian schools were closed, Soviet monuments were removed, the Russian language was banned, and, finally, pensioners were kicked out into the cold. It is clear that under the pretext of supporting one’s place in history one can go very far; it is especially convenient to hide behind history to promote such dubious decisions,” Kandelaki said.
