Tokayev about West Kazakhsan region: It borders with Russia and is of strategic importance, while the problems have a background

Astana. January 27. KazTAG -  Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, drew attention to the problems of the West Kazakhstan region that have accumulated over the years, pointing to its strategic importance due to the common border with Russia.
“The question is about the quality of local roads. In fact, two-thirds are in poor condition. People regularly complain about it. These are the problems that have prehistory over a number of years, ”Tokayev said.
He also drew attention to the fact that 80% of power grids in the region are worn out resulting in frequent failures.
“For various reasons, these issues were not resolved, but now, I think, the government should pay attention to the most pressing problems in the region," he said.
