“Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan took part in the closing ceremony of the Kazakhstan-UAE business forum. Commercial agreements worth about $5 billion were signed, covering key sectors of the economy,” reports the statement.
UAE has invested over $4.3 billion in Kazakhstan and is Kazakhstan's leading trade and investment partner.
"We see significant potential for expanding cooperation in various sectors of the economy, including energy, logistics, finance, smart technologies, agriculture and much more. The dynamics of our partnership are confirmed by several significant projects with Masdar, Presight, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Terminal Holdings and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. These and other joint initiatives reflect the depth, effectiveness and progressive development of our bilateral relations," Tokayev said.
The business forum covered thematic sessions devoted to the development of digital technologies, modern trends in finance, urban studies and the "green" economy.
"A number of B2B meetings were held in parallel between business representatives of the two countries. The UAE delegation at the forum was represented by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, as well as a number of large companies, including Masdar, AMEA Power, Abu Dhabi Ports Group and others,” Akorda added.
