Tokayev is to visit to Russia on May 8-9

Astana. May 6. KazTAG – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is going to Russia on May 8-9, said Dauren Abayev,  Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia.
“Meetings between our presidents take place quite regularly. After Vladimir Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan in October, our presidents have already met twice - at the EAEU and CIS summits in St. Petersburg and in February in Kazan at the Future Games. Our president is planning a visit to Moscow on May 8–9,” said Ambassador Abayev said in an interview with TASS. Abayev spoke about contacts between Astana and Kyiv in the defense sector.
“We need to treat them like that - as rumors, as fakes, as unverified information,” Abayev said.
He noted that the relations between Kazakhstan and Russia are allied.
“As the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Russia, I am very embarrassed by some fakes about, for example, that there is Russophobia in Kazakhstan. It is a myth. It is slowly starting to spread in some anonymous Telegram channels. This is absolute nonsense. There is no Russophobia in Kazakhstan. About 3 million ethnic Russians live in Kazakhstan - our Russians, our citizens. Imagine if there was some kind of Russophobia. This cannot be. Why? Because we have a common history, we have a similar mentality, to some extent even a similar cultural code,” Abaev said.
