Tokayev orders to allow organization of peaceful meetings and improve legislation on meetings
Astana. September 2. KazTAG - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has assigned to allow organization of peaceful meetings and improve the legislation on meetings, reports Akorda.
"According to the Constitution our people have the right for free expression of will. If peaceful actions are not targeted on breaching of law and peace of people, we should allow their organization. Special places should be allocated for them, not in the outskirts," he said while addressing a message to people at the joint session of the Parliament's chambers.
He added that the calls to non-constitutional actions and hooliganism will be prosecuted in compliance with the law.
"We should support the civil community, involve people in discussion of the hot tasks," he said.
He added that a department has been created in the Presidential Office, "which will be tracing the quality of consideration of people's applications by the state bodies".
