Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the mutual visits of the presidents that took place last year enhanced the comprehensive development of Kazakh-Armenian relations.
"Your first official visit to Astana is important in terms of promoting our partnership. We have great sympathy for the Armenian people, for your state," the president emphasized.
The head of state emphasized that Kazakhstan welcomes the completion of negotiations on the text of the draft Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Yerevan and Baku. In his opinion, this significant event will be a harbinger of the establishment of lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and will contribute to strengthening security and active development of cooperation in the region both with Kazakhstan and with all Central Asian countries.
In turn, the Armenian diplomat expressed gratitude for the warm welcome.
"We largely share your vision of the strategic partnership between our countries," said Ararat Mirzoyan.
He said that the ministries of foreign affairs and other departments of Armenia and Kazakhstan are working to implement the agreements reached during the official visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Yerevan last year.
During the meeting, the prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
The President of Kazakhstan announced the readiness of domestic businesses to increase the supply of goods to Armenia by $350 million.
