Total gold reserves in Kyrgyzstan reach to 2 149 tons
Almaty. November 10. KazTAG - Kyrgyzstan’s total gold reserves account for 2 thousand 149 tons and has over 170 gold deposits. Large amount of gold is extracted on the high land mine Kumtor, according to the conception of jewelry industry development in the Kyrgyz Republic, which is being discussed by the department on precious metals under the Finance Ministry of KR.
The department says that Kyrgyzstan is ranked 3rd on gold mining among CIS countries and 22nd in the world. Over the last years it keeps on extracting gold on the level of 18-20 tons per a year.
