Trade balance of Kazakhstan may turn negative under current oil price- expert
Astana. January 23. KazTAG - According to Vyacheslav Dodonov, chief scientific employee of Kazakhstan’s strategic research institute under the President, the trade balance of Kazakhstan may get negative.
"Export is closely tied with oil price. The trade balance depends on the export volume. Under this price our trade balance may pass the negative balance zone," he said.
"For many years we have had positive trade balance. Now it may turn negative, it negatively affects the payment balance," he said.
According to the National Bank, the trade balance made up $29.9 bln in 9 months last year.
Brent oil price made up $48.42 (-0.51) barrel on Thursday.
