Transport-logistics center to be created on base of river port in Pavlodar
Pavlodar. May 16. KazTAG - Multi-modal transport-logistics center may be created on the base of the river port in Pavlodar.
"We believe it is necessary to create a multi-modal transport logistics center on the territory of Pavlodar river port which will ship cargoes delivered by water, motor and railway transport, reducing expenses on companies logistics, market participants," said Rizabek Khomarov, director of Pavlodar river port.
In his words, currently the river port in Pavlodartransships 2 mln tons of cargoes a year. 1.5 mln tons of them are accounted for internal transportations. Annually 100 000 tons of road metal and 10 00 tons of technical salt and sand are transshipped via the transborder channel Irtysh to Russia.
"Meanwhile the enterprise represents a multi-target terminal which has an opportunity to transship 6 mln tons of cargoes a year.
