Trial involving Kazakhstani citizen taking part in military conflict in Ukraine commenced in Astana
Astana. December 12. KazTAG - A trial on the criminal case in respect of 30 years old resident of Kazakhstan Eugeniy Vdovenko started in Saryarka district court N2 in Astana who took part in the military conflict of Ukraine.
"He took part in the fights, used weapons, provided security of block posts, patrolled the city of Lugansk, and also conducted other orders.
Thus, Vdovenko, being a citizen of Kazakhstan, intentionally and illegally took part in the military conflict, military actions on the territory of a foreign state, committing a crime on the article 162-1 (participation in foreign military conflicts) without any signs of conscription," said Dauren Ashimov, prosecutor reading the accusatory conclusion.
The defendant admits his guilt partly and denies any intention of crime.
"I didn't go there to kill people, overthrow the power, cut people or something. I wanted to help peaceful people," he said.
