Turgumbayev commented on detentions in Nur-Sultan and Almaty

Astana. September 24. KazTAG - Yerlan Turgumbayev, Minister of Interior Affairs, has commented on detention of people for participation in the unsanctioned meetings on September 21, reports the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"Despite numerous warnings of the prosecutor's office, some people followed the prevocational calls, committed illegal actions, posing threat to peace and security of other people," he said on the sidelines in the Government.
He said the law provides liability for violations and non-performance of order of any peaceful meetings, actions, marches and demonstration.
The protestors who created a disturbance, destabilized traffic and ignored the requirements of police were taken to police station.
He said all the arrangements were held in compliance with the law, the detention of violators was carried out as correctly as possible, special means were not used. No pregnant women and minors were detained.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 15 violators were brought to administrative liability, nine of them - to administrative arrest, six - to a fine, including in Nur-Sultan,  Almaty,  Aktobe, East Kazakhstan, Mangistau , Pavlodar and Turkestan regions. Other participants were released after a preventive conversation.
Turgumbayev also noted that the primary task of the police is to preserve the life and health of citizens, as well as to ensure public safety. Any calls and unlawful actions that pose a threat to life and security to people will be suppressed.
