Turgumbayev is not aware of detention of activists on threshold of Independence Day in Kazakhstan

Astana. December 13. KazTAG - Yerzhan Turgumbayev, Minister of Interior Affairs, is not aware of detention of activists on the threshold of the Independence Day in Kazakhstan.
"First, no protest actions have started (...) There are administrative cases (on previous meetings-KazTAG). Do such things happen every day? (...) December 16 has not come yet. (...) Who said? (about the detentions-KazTAG)," said Turgumbayev answering the question about the reason of detentions of activists on the threshold of the Independence Day.
A number of activists had been arrested in Nur-Sultan and other regions of Kazakhstan on the threshold of the Independence Day. They were charged breach of law on peaceful meetings. Among the detainees are the civil activists - Askhat Zheksebayev, Noyan Rakhimzhanov, Marat Musabayev, Bolatkhan Khamituly, Nursultan Tastayev, Zubaida Seidakhmetova, Fariza Bespayeva, Akmaral Kerimbayev, Kapar Akhat, Gilmira Khalykova, Galiya Tamabayeva, Zhumamurat Shamshi.  In addition, the court fined activist Bakdaulet Alibekov.
