Two policemen sentenced for tortures in Taraz
Astana. July 30. KazTAG - Two policemen have been convicted in Taraz for using torture against a witness in a criminal case, said the press service of the anti-corruption agency of Kazakhstan.
“The department of the anti-corruption agency of Kazakhstan of the Zhambyl region completed a pre-trial investigation against the head of the operational search department of the criminal police of Taraz police captain S. Beisekeyev and lieutenant Kudaibergenov A. (...) Beisekeyev and Kudaibergenov have been sentenced to 3 years in prison with serving the punishment in a secondary security institution, " reads the message.
It is also reported that the convicts have been deprived of the right to take positions and engage in certain activities for up to 3 years, and also deprived of special titles "captain" and "lieutenant".
“Beisekeyev and Kudaibergenov used torture against a witness in a criminal case in order to get confessions by prior agreement,” said the report.
